First Launch

Block-Time walks you through a short setup wizard on first launch covering three things: who you are, how you want times displayed, and which FRMS ruleset applies to your flying.

  1. 1

    Crew & Ops Data

This section has two cards — Crew Info and Operations.

    Crew Info

    • Log Flight Time As — Capt for P1 time; F/O for P2 or P1U/S time; S/O for P2 time
    • Log PF time as — Shown when F/O is selected. Choose ICUS (P1US) or P2
    • Default Name — Pre-fill your name for your seat. Leave blank for none
    • Log S/O Names — Show S/O name fields when logging flights

    Operations

    • Inst Time when PF — Auto-adds instrument time when Pilot Flying: None, 15, 30, 45, or 60 min
    • Log Approaches — Track approach types (ILS, GLS, RNP, AIII, NPA) per flight
    • Default Approach — Shown when Log Approaches is on; pre-fills approach type on each new flight when PF

    Custom Fields

At the bottom of this screen you can define up to 10 extra fields to track anything not covered by the standard logbook. Each field has a label you choose and one of four types:

    • Integer — Whole numbers (e.g. Pax Count)
    • Decimal — Decimal numbers (e.g. Fuel Used)
    • Time — Duration in HH:MM or Decimal Hours depending on Settings
    • Text — Any text value

Tap Add Field to create one, drag to reorder, tap a field to edit or delete it. See the Custom Fields guide for more.

    Tip

You can add or change custom fields at any time under Settings → Crew & Ops Data.

  2. 2

    Flight Information

Choose how Block-Time formats and displays flight data across the app:

    • Fleet Selection — Sets A/C registrations shown by default and enables ACARS Capture if available
    • Airline Prefix — Add a prefix to all flight numbers (e.g. QF)
    • Full A/C Registration — Show full reg (VH-ABC) or short (ABC)
    • Preserve Leading Zeros — Keep leading zeros in flight numbers: 0405 vs 405
    • Airport Code — ICAO (YBBN) or IATA (BNE)
    • Times Entered In — Enter departure & arrival times in UTC or Local time
    • Times Shown In — Show dates & times in UTC or Local time
    • Flight Times Displayed As — Decimal hours (1.5) or HH:MM (01:30)
    • Decimal Rounding — Shown when Decimal is selected: Standard or Alternate rounding
    • Show OUT/IN Times — Shows Out & In times in the logbook view
    • Count SIM in Total — Include simulator time in total flight time calculations
    Note

Long A/C Registration, Leading Zeros, and Airline Prefix can't be changed after flights are saved without using the Edit button in the Logbook tab.

  3. 3

    FRMS Configuration

Select the fleet that governs your FRMS limits:

    • Shorthaul — A321 & B737
    • Longhaul — A380, A330, B787
  4. 4

    Tap Complete Setup

The app opens to the main logbook. You are ready to start logging.

Crew Notes

Crew Notes lets you store details for the people you fly with — phone number, date of birth, etc.

  1. 1

    Add a note

Tap the button next to any crew name on a flight to open their notes card.

  2. 2

    Manage all notes

Go to Settings → Crew & Ops Data → Crew Notes to view, search, edit, or delete every saved crew note in one place.

Tip

Crew notes data is included in Block-Time backups. Restoring a backup restores all crew notes automatically.
