Currency & Recency
Track certificates, ratings, medicals, and operational recency — with amber and red warnings before anything lapses.
What Is the Currency Tab?
The Currency tab keeps every expiry and recency requirement in one place, each with a traffic-light status so you can see at a glance what's current, what's due soon, and what has lapsed. Items are grouped into four sections:
- Operational Recency — Approaches, take-offs, landings, and instrument recency, calculated automatically from your logged flights
- Certificates & Documents — Medicals, passports, and any document with an expiry date
- Ratings & Licenses — Type ratings, licenses, and endorsements
- Miscellaneous — Anything else you want to keep an eye on
Each item shows a coloured status: green when current, amber when it falls inside your warning window, and red once it has expired.
Operational recency items are derived from your logged flights — Block-Time works them out for you, so there's nothing to enter. You only add items manually for certificates, ratings, and anything else with a date you want tracked.
Adding & Managing Items

Open Manage Currency
On the Currency tab, tap the sliders button in the top corner to open Manage Currency. Here every item is listed under its section, and you can show or hide, add, or reorder them.

Add a new item
Tap the + button on any section header to add an item to that section. Give it a name and set how it should expire — see the next card for the two expiry modes.

Show or hide items
Use the toggle beside each item to show or hide it. Hiding an item removes it from the Currency list and from the status cards without deleting it — handy for requirements that don't apply to you.

Reorder
Tap Order, drag items into the sequence you prefer, then tap Save.
Expiry Modes & Warnings
When you add or edit a manual item, choose how it expires:
- Expiry Date — A fixed date, ideal for a medical, passport, or rating. The item turns red the day it lapses.
- Recency Window — A rolling requirement of "at least N within X days" — set Required to 1 for simple "last completed" recency, or higher to require a number of events within the window.
Set Warn Within (Days) to choose how far ahead the amber warning appears. If you want two weeks' notice before a medical lapses, set it to 14 — the item turns amber 14 days out and red once it expires.
To edit an item later, tap it in Manage Currency. You can change its name, expiry, and warning window, or delete it entirely. Operational recency items are read-only — their details come from your logbook.
See It at a Glance
Your currency status doesn't only live on the Currency tab — a compact Currency Status card summarises each section's traffic light so you can spot a problem area instantly. You'll find it in two places:
- Logbook — A card pinned to the top of your flight list. Tap the chevron on the totals row to slide it up out of the way, or pull it back down.
- Dashboard — Add the Currency Status card from the Dashboard's card picker and position it wherever you like among your other cards.
