Import Sources

All import options are in Settings → Import & Export. Block-Time supports four sources:

Import your complete webCIS flying history into Block-Time. There are two ways to do it — directly from the website, or from a file you request by email.

The webCIS Flying Experience Report is not error free and complete - it may be missing data!

    iPad — iOS 26 Known Issue

    On iPad running iOS 26, the authentication loop may not complete correctly in full-screen mode. If you get stuck, switch to windowed mode before logging in. Alternatively, choose receive a text message as your authentication method, or authenticate using your phone.

    Note

    The downloaded webCIS data is saved automatically to your Backups folder under Block-Time in iCloud Drive if enabled. You can use this file for a future import or open it in a spreadsheet app to manually review and amend before importing again.

      Search Workday for the Manager Crew Systems email address and request a copy of your webCIS Flying Record

    Review aircraft type mapping

    Block-Time groups registrations by prefix and auto-maps known ones. Unmapped groups are shown in orange — tap one to assign an aircraft type.

    Each registration group has two mapping modes:

    • Simple (default) — one prefix maps to one aircraft type. For example, all VH-EB* → B737.
    • Advanced — the same prefix spans multiple fleets. Define rules by rego range and/or date range; the first matching rule wins.

    Advanced rule fields: Rego range (From / To, e.g. EBA–EBV), optional Date range (after / before a date), and Aircraft type. Tap +Rule to add a rule; tap a rule row to expand and edit it.

    Tip

    Use Advanced mode if the same registration prefix was used by two different aircraft types at different points in time — for example, VH-OG* originally assigned to the B767 before the A321.

    Tap webCIS History

Note

Duplicate detection is applied automatically.

Any spreadsheet that can be exported to CSV can be imported into Block-Time. You map the columns yourself, so it works with exports from other logbook apps or custom spreadsheets.

    Export your data to a .csv file

    Save it somewhere accessible — iCloud Drive works well.

    Map your columns

    Block-Time reads your column headers and lets you match each one to a logbook field. The table below lists every available field you can map to.

    Note

    Only Date is required, but map every column that is available for the most accurate results. Pay particular attention to columns containing times.

    Tip

    Fields marked support multiple source columns. For example, if your spreadsheet has separate "PIC Night" and "SIC Night" columns, you can select both and Block-Time will sum them automatically.

    Tip

    Columns named Counter 1 through Counter 10 in a Block-Time CSV export are automatically detected and mapped to their corresponding custom fields.

    These mappings are not exhaustive and may differ depending on how your logbook app was configured. If a column name in your export does not match, check the column header in the file directly and map it accordingly.

    Tap Show Preview, then Import

    Review sample rows with your mappings applied before confirming.

Import flights directly from a QF crew roster. Block-Time parses the roster and creates logbook entries for each flight sector found. Both Shorthaul (SH) and Longhaul (LH) formats are supported. After importing, Block-Time can also look up the crew for each flight from webCIS.

Important

This only works with the file emailed from webCIS using Send My Roster. Copying text directly from the webCIS screen will not work.

    Block-Time offers three ways to get your roster in:

      Open the email in Mail, then long-press the attached file

    Review the detected sectors

    Block-Time lists all flight sectors found. Uncheck any you don't want to import, then tap Import.

    Fetch crew names (optional)

    Once the flights are imported, Block-Time offers to look up crew names from webCIS. Tap Fetch Crew to start, or Skip. Block-Time works through each sector — signing you into webCIS if needed — and fills in any empty Captain, F/O and S/O slots. It never overwrites a crew name you've already entered.

    A summary then shows how many flights were updated, how many had no crew found, and any sectors that failed. Tap Retry Failed to run the failed sectors again.

Name format

Fetched crew names use the style set in Settings → Imported Crew Name Format (First Last, F. LAST, LAST First, or Last, First). This setting applies to crew fetched from a roster import and names brought in via Crew Names & Notes.

Note

You can re-import your roster after each update — flights already in your logbook will not be duplicated.

Fetch crew for existing flights

You can run the same webCIS crew lookup across your whole logbook at any time — not just after a roster import. This fills empty crew slots on flights you've already logged. webCIS historical data is limited to approximately the previous 12 months only.

    Go to Settings → Import & Export → webCIS Crew Names

    Block-Time scans your logbook for flights with empty crew slots. The first time, it asks for your webCIS staff number so it can identify you in each crew list — this is saved for next time.

    Let it fetch

    Block-Time works through every flight that's missing crew, signing you into webCIS if needed, and fills in any empty Captain, F/O and S/O slots. Crew names you've already entered are left untouched.

    Review the summary

    See how many flights were updated, how many had no crew found, and any that were skipped or failed. Tap Retry Failed to run failed sectors again.

Note

Fetched names use the same Imported Crew Name Format as the roster flow. Flights are skipped when they have no flight number, date, or a departure airport Block-Time can't recognise — the summary lists how many and why.

Import a list of crew names from a CSV or tab-delimited file. Every name is added to your crew name pickers, so you can pick crew quickly when logging flights. You can optionally bring in extra columns as notes against each name.

    Go to Settings → Import & Export → Crew Names & Notes

    Choose a CSV or tab-delimited file. Block-Time reads the column headers and opens the mapping screen.

    Map the Crew Name column

    Select the column that holds the crew name. This is required. Two options control how names are read and stored:

    • Source file names — tell Block-Time how the names appear in your file (for example First Last, or Last First).
    • Save names as — choose the format the names are stored in for your crew pickers.

    A live preview of the first row shows how the name will look once imported.

    Add note columns (optional)

    Tap Add to map one or more columns as notes against each name. Each note column has an editable label that is placed before the value — leave the label blank to store the raw value. Skip this step if you only want to import names.

    Tap Import

    Block-Time confirms how many names were added, how many were already in your crew list, and how many notes were saved.

Note

Names already in your crew list are not duplicated. Notes for an existing name are appended to that crew member's notes.

Export

You can also export your crew list. In Settings → Import & Export, tap Crew Names & Notes under Export to save every saved crew name and its notes as a CSV file. The exported file re-imports through this same flow.
